Union LA x BBS x Air Jordan 1 High SP

Here everything you need to know about Union LA and Bephie's Beauty Supply's highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 collaboration, releasing on 26/08 this year.

This release took a complete 180 degree turn in terms of design when compared to its AJ1 collab back in 2018.

Inspired by Brooklyn's unique energy during the Summer of '96, where Hip-Hop was maturing and Streetwear took its first babysteps.

"Man, what a time"

Let's deep dive into the specifics surrounding this release.

A nod to the 2000's

A major element in this shoe is the thick woven panel around the foot guard, which is a clear reference to Nike's first Air Footscape Woven release dating back to '00's. This "running" silhouette was easily recognisable due to its asymmetrical lacing structure. Expect this classic pair make a return at major retailers end of 2023.

The Union LA pair took this notorious element and flipped it with the most iconic silhouette of all time, resulting in a subtle yet unique design.

Colourway

In our opinion, this colourway is perfectly timed with today's "nude colours" trend. A pale vanilla base combined with an almost muslin/sail woven element make this a rotational must have.

In NBA terms this pair would have a spot on any starting 5.

The accent colours on this pair make it jaw dropping, take a look at the yellow surrounded edges, the subtle kinetic green stitches and of course the iconic "UN/LA" label to top it off.
